Complete Manufacturing Process of Our Cast Iron Motor Housing

1. Resin sand casting process or lost foam casting process

   We use advanced resin sand casting technology for motor frame blanks. According to client’s drawings, we manufacture custom aluminum molds to form integrated heat dissipation ribs, mounting bosses, terminal box bases and lifting lugs. After molding, melting and pouring high-temperature molten iron, we carry out shakeout, gating and riser removal, and grind all flash and burrs for smooth casting surfaces. All casting blanks go through stress relief annealing to avoid deformation during subsequent machining, fully meeting ISO 8062 casting tolerance standards as marked on overseas client technical drawings. Lost-foam casting is a type of evaporative-pattern casting process that is similar to investment casting except foam is used for the pattern instead of wax. The lost foam casting techniques take advantage of the low boiling point of polymer foams to simplify the investment casting process by removing the need of melt the wax out of the mold. Compared with investment casting method and sand casting techniques, lost foam casting is one of the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly metal casting process for creating complex and intricate metal parts by using a foam pattern that evaporates when molten metal is poured into it:

2. Precision CNC Machining Procedure

   The rough cast motor housing will be processed by CNC lathes, boring machines and milling equipment. We precisely machine bearing chambers, front & rear end stop shoulders, base mounting planes, drill and tap all installation thread holes, ensuring dimensional tolerances follow ISO 2768-M general machining tolerance rules. For special customized sizes, we adjust machining parameters to match your strict limit deviation requirements.

3. Surface Treatment & Coating Process

   After shot blasting to remove casting scale and oxidation, we apply anti-rust primer as required.
